Westcon Yard in Ølensvåg will start constructing a new electrical ferry, after signing an agreement with Norled.

The ferry's name will be "Ryfylkeferjen" and she will be fully electric. The ferry is equipped with batteries, to avoid having to charge during the day.

"Ryfylkeferjen" will operate between Nedstranda and Stavanger, and all the island in the Ryfylke-area.

"We want our business to create positive reperecussions in our society. Therefore, it is very gratifying that this ferry will be built in Norway", says Sigvald Breivik, technical director of Norled.
