Are you ready for a day packed with experiences, which includes both expressboat, bus, bike and hiking? Come to Pollatinden in Soulund. Pollatinden is often referred to as the Queen of the archipelago. Whether it is the fact that the mountain is the second highest mountain in the municipality that is the origin og the queen`s name, or that Queen Sonja has repeatedly climed the mountain is not known.
THis trip starts with expressboat from Bergen to Krakhella, where you continue by bus to Krakhella. Rent a bike at Solund Apparments, and continue 4 km to the north. The landscape in Solund is unique and fascinates most people. You will se rocks, rock walls and boulders everywhere. In addition, the entire municipality is located on island, islets and reefs. Here you will find the most beautiful costal Norway has to offer!
The trail starts at Pollen and takes approximately 2-3 hours to walk. The trail is T-marked, and has a steady climb, mostely on bare mountains. It may be slippery when wet, so wear poper shoes. Pollatinde rises 541 metres above sea level and offers a fantastic view of the westernmost islands in Norway, and the lighthous Utvær. If you turn around, you will see high mountain peaks in the horizon and also the enterance to The Sognefjord.
Solund is a fantastic place for a longer stay. You will find peace and quiet, you can take a bike trip og paddle in beautiful surroundings. Enjoy local food and drink in one of the idyllic fishing villages. Take a hike to the daytrip cabin Sognesjøen or visit Solunds highest peak, Krakhellenipa?
